Listen To Letter
Dear Life,
Each year you have gifted me something special and unique. In 2021, when the world was under chaos, you gifted me resilience. In 2022 you helped me get onto my two feet, when you allowed me to move to Winnipeg for six months by myself. In 2023, you gave me the courage to know that I can build a life with my passion for writing, when you gave me my first client for my ghostwriting business. Finally, in 2024, you gifted me the understanding of what unconditional love is for the world and its people. The gift of 2024 is the golden gift. I knew that my love for the world was vast, but I didn’t know what unconditional love was until I learned to love the world wholeheartedly, through its sinful ways. It is no coincidence that the highest religion is the religion of love. Love is vast like the bodies of water on this earth. The love we have inside of us for our immediate family and friends, is just a drop in the sea. Love is truly much more than that.
I am taken aback when I ponder over how I have been transformed by this magical emotion that is very much the epicenter of spirituality. Ever since I started my journey towards higher awareness, I have become more compassionate and open-minded towards the world we live in. When I look around the world, I see people in need. To my left there are people struggling to make ends meet, to my right there are people who don’t have shelter. I have always been asked throughout my life by many people, “How can I serve mankind or how can I make a difference in the world?” To them I say do your part, and you’ll be doing something for the world. If you come from a place of logic and practicality, spirituality is harder to digest as an ideology or concept. But you should know this, all the desires that one has to solve problems in the world, have stemmed from compassion and care, two very spiritual emotions.
When I first asked myself, “How can I be of service in this world?” I thought from a logical standpoint. The obvious answers were to donate my time or money. But, I quickly learned that there is another very special way to help the world, and that is via spiritual development. You may wonder how my spiritual development helps the world?! Well, the first thing is when I started to practice spirituality, I became more mindful and patient, two things that are very much lacking in the world. Second, my spiritual practice gave me a higher understanding of myself, which meant that I was now able to conduct myself better in society. Last, my spiritual development reinforced to me that nothing can be achieved, without love at the core of your being. It is because of my dedication towards my spiritual development that I can say that I am a valuable member of society today. Therefore it is important for you to know that where time and money are generous gifts to anyone, your personal development is just as much, if not even more valuable.
When you step out into the world, ask yourself, how can I improve as a person and what can I do, to change myself for the better? All the answers can be found within yourself, if you just do your part and practice spirituality.
Thank you for everything,
–Mary
